I am a British Wheel of Yoga teacher and have been teaching Yoga since 2002. I teach a number of classes in the area, namely Beginners Yoga, Slow Flow Yoga, Restore and Recharge Yoga, Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga. Should you prefer one to one sessions I also offer those.

The Yoga I teach
The style of Yoga I teach is one that has been ‘inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli’ (1908-1999).
The basic principles are Grounding, Breath and release / elongation of the Spine. Being Kind to your body, working with it and not against it. For me Yoga is not about stretch, push, pull, force or shape making but about finding freedom (of body / mind) using gravity, breath and spinal mobility.
All my classes are taught with these principles is in mind.
Vanda was an Italian concert pianist who found Yoga later in life, I believe in her late 40’s. You may have come across the name ‘Scaravelli Yoga’. I never had the opportunity to meet Vanda in person, but I’m told she never wanted her Yoga teachings to become organized, and most certainly didn’t want any Yoga school/approach or training named after her.
For years I avoiding using Vanda’s name in my class descriptions, however I now veer towards saying the Yoga I teach is inspired by Vanda’s teachings, especially as there are so many styles and interpretations of Yoga out there. I feel it might help students understand where my approach and inspiration has its roots. See ‘Awakening the Spine’, Vanda’s Book.
My Yoga for Beginners Courses are suitable for those looking for a gentle introduction into Yoga, or those returning to Yoga after a break, or for anyone recovering from injury.
Slow Flow Yoga
Each week the class will be built around the Sun Salutation Sequence, also known as Suraya Namaskar.
Restore & Recharge Yoga
The practice is primarily interested in freeing the breath and spine together with a sense of grounding or yielding to the earth.
Flowing movements that help to build strength and flexibility.
Babies are very welcome in my postnatal yoga class. Gentle yoga based movements to help your recovery post-birth.
Massage strengthens your babies immune system, relaxes their belly which aids digestion and increases oxygen absorption due to easy belly breathing.

Classes are currently offered as ‘hybrid’ either Online via ZOOM or in-person. In-person spaces are limited to 10, to ensure enough space between students.
- Please do not attend class if you feel unwell. If you have purchased a course and miss a class, you are welcome to make up a class on a Friday of the same month (availability permitting).
- Please bring your own mat and props where you can.
- I will rely on verbal teaching rather than any hands on adjustments.
If you feel uneasy about attending a class in-person, I offer my classes online too. This way you can still practise Yoga with me from the comfort of your own home, just choose the ONLINE via ZOOM class when booking your place. You will then receive an email with the ZOOM meeting id and password. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
